Melissa Sweiss, a former tri-athlete and a ballet dancer, started the Barre Workout after
having her second baby and looking for an effective way to quickly get in shape. She wanted a workout she could offer to those who wanted the strength, fitness and the body of a dancer with quick results.
The Barre Workout utilizes the fat burning format of interval training, the muscle shaping technique of isometrics and the elongating principles of dance conditioning to quickly and safely reshape your entire body.
The Barre Workout shapes and elongates every major muscle group. The result is a clearly visible change in body shape. Muscles look longer and more defined, the body becomes leaner and more slender, and posture becomes more erect.

I like many of you have never put on a ballet slipper or danced other than atmy wedding. When Melissa introduced me to the Barre Workout last year, I was skeptical. I’d run dozens of races, marathons and played collegiate level sports, and yet doing the barre 3+ times gave me better/quicker results than I had ever seen before: sculpted arms, flatter abs, better posture and a sleeker look in my thighs (wow). You won’t hear this from die-hard workout gurus, but although I work up a decent sweat, I don’t look or feel like I’ve been run over by a water truck after a workout — yet I see what I’m accomplishing. I’m thrilled to be able to share what I’ve found in the Barre Workout with you. See you at “The Barre”!
